Topic: The first4sale.com story so far
The internet has changed all our lives; the way we communicate, the way we do business, and in the last few years, the way we buy and sell. The incredible impact of e-commerce has been felt throughout traditional retailing, with retailers having to raise their game, cut their prices or fail in the face of stiff online competition. For the consumer, the internet provides a plethora of choice and goods and services bought online usually represent excellent value for money.
The internet has revolutionised the way we think. A few years ago who would have thought it possible to fly abroad for £20? But now we all know it is possible, thanks to the internet and the emergence of low cost airlines. Travel is a great example of how the net has changed our preconceptions. Before the internet, we would go to a travel agent, apart from the savvy, who knew that teletext usually gave better value for money. But how annoying was it to wait for those pages to change? So who is the winner here? The consumer.
So have all businesses reacted to this? Pretty much. And what about estate agents?
All agents know that the internet has given them huge exposure. But it seems that they are not too happy about vendors using that same exposure to sell privately. As you can read on our home page, we have encountered serious resistance from the entrenched property establishment. Even the Office of Fair Trading has written to us to give us the happy news that they now class us as an estate agent. We are not, never were and never will be an estate agent. Nor was first4sale set up to try to put agents out of business. We offer a choice. There will always be room in the market for good traditional agents who offer a good service.
So we have made first4sale a community site. We want to change preconceptions about property selling, making it possible for homeowners to sell their own properties easily, without having to pay exorbitant fees. So if you would like to take control of your property sale and save thousands of pounds in the process, if you would like to see the property market revolutionised (or should that be brought into line with other businesses who have had to raise their game in the face of online competition), or you just want to have a choice when you next sell a property, list your property, or spread the word and start the revolution now! Remember that this site is for YOU and our success will be YOUR success!
